Objective To detect the level of Th17-related cytokines in induced sputum and analyze its correlation with BODE index and GOLD degree among the patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
Methods Fifty-there patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases with acute exacerbation (AE-COPD) were selected as pathologic study object, and 40 healthy volunteers during the same period were selected as the controls. The induced sputum before (Group AE-COPD) and after the treatment (Group S-COPD) were prepared and its Th17 related cytokines level (IL-23,IL-1β,IL-17A and IL-17F) were tested. Its correlation with BODE index and GOLD degree were analyzed.
Results The IL-23,IL-1β,IL-17A and IL-17F levels of Group AE-COPD and Group S-COPD were significantly higher than those of the control group (
P<0.05),and IL-23,IL-1β,IL-17A and IL-17F levels of Group AE-COPD were significantly higher than those of Group S-COPD (
P<0.05).The BODE index and GOLD degree of Group AE-COPD were significantly higher than those of Group S-COPD (
P<0.05).Correlation analysis showed that IL-23,IL-1β,IL-17A and IL-17F levels of Group AE-COPD had positive correlation with BODE index and GOLD grade (
P<0.05),and the IL-17A and IL-17F levels of Group S-COPD had positive correlation with BODE index and GOLD grade (
P<0.05).
Conclusion IL-23,IL-1β,IL-17A and IL-17F are all involved in the occurrence and development of COPD,and their acute phase levels are all positively correlated with BODE index and GOLD grade.
