Objective To explore the effect of S-1 capsule in the treatment of senile gastric cancer patients on apoptosis in serum inhibition protein (survivin) and soluble intercellular adhesion molecule-1(sICAM-1) and the influence of tumor markers.
Methods Sixty-two elderly patients with gastric cancer were randomly into two groups in our hospital from May,2013 to November,2015.The control group (31 cases) was treated with oxaliplatin and 5-fluorouracil (5-Fu) and leucovorin regimen, the observation group (31 cases) were treated with S-1 and oxaliplatin treatment, they were treated for 3 courses. The clinical efficacy and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. The vascular adhesion factor (sVCAM-1),sICAM-1,Survivin levels and tumor markers were compared before and after treatment in the two groups.
Results There was no significant difference in the levels of sICAM-1,sVCAM-1 and Survivin between the two groups before chemotherapy (
P>0.05);The levels of sICAM-1,sVCAM-1 and survivin in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (
P<0.05);After 3 courses of chemotherapy, the levels of CEA,CA125 and CA19-9 in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (
P<0.05);There was no significant difference between the two groups (
P>0.05);The incidence of gastrointestinal reaction and reduction of WBC in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (
P<0.05).
Conclusion Elderly patients with gastric cancer using chemotherapy S-1 combined with oxaliplatin is effective and can effectively reduce the sVCAM-1,sICAM-1,survivin,reduce the levels of tumor markers, and has high safety.
