Objective To investigate the expression of UTP23 in epithelial ovarian cancer and its relationship with drug resistance to chemotherapy.
Methods Using immunohistochemical method in 64 cases of epithelial ovarian cancer patients and 40 cases of ovarian tissue hyperplasia tissue of patients with protein UTP23 expression was determined,and analyze UTP23 expression level and clinicopathological characteristics,resistance to chemotherapy and prognosis of the relationship.
Results UTP23 protein was expressed in the cytoplasm of epithelial ovarian cancer cells,and was stained with brown granules.UTP23 lower expression of the Epithelial ovarian cancer patients was 46 cases,significantly higher than 6 cases of benign ovarian tissue hyperplasia group,difference was statistically significant (
P<0.05),UTP23 lower expression of resistance to chemotherapy patients was 29 cases,significantly higher than 17 cases of the sensitivity of chemotherapy group,difference was statistically significant (
P<0.05),UTP23 low expression and age,pathological type,there was no significant relationship between ascites and other non significant (
P>0.05),and differentiation degree,clinical stage,there was no lymph node metastasis,the size of residual lesions had significant relationship (
P<0.05).Survival time of patients with UTP23 lower expression was significantly shorter than the group of patients,high expression difference was statistically significant (
P<0.05),COX regression single factor analysis showed that UTP23 expression was associated with overall survival time[
RR=0.587,
P=0.032,95%
CI:0.336(0.361-0.986)].
Conclusion UTP23 low expression is closely related with disease progression,chemotherapy resistance and prognosis in epithelial ovarian cancer patients,suggesting that UTP23 may be a new indicator for judging the effect of chemotherapy and evaluating prognosis.
