  • Objective To investigate the intervention effect of quality control circle activity for radiation dermatitis on patients with head and neck cancer after radiotherapy, and explore a possible solution. Methods A Total of 160 patients with head and neck cancer in our hospital from October,2013 to October,2015 were randomly divided into two groups with 80 cases in each group. After the radiotherapy, the control group was treated according to the conventional nursing method, while the observation group was treated with the care of the quality control circle activities. We compared the occurrence of radiation dermatitis in patients after nursing care. The statistical analysis was carried out by SPSS 17.0 software,P<0.05 indicating statistical significance. Results The number of 0 degree dermatitis in observation group was 34 cases (42.5%),higher than that of the control group of 22 cases (27.5%);the number of interruption of radiotherapy was 4 cases (5%),lower than the control group 13 cases (16.3%);longer radioactive skin reaction time (10.4±2.3) days than the control group (6.5±1.5) days, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05);patient satisfaction of the observation group was 97.5%(78/80) higher than that of the control group,80%(64/80),and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion The implementation of quality control circle activities in nursing head and neck cancer radiotherapy patients can effectively reduce the incidence of radiation dermatitis, improving the quality of life of patients after radiotherapy.
