Objective To understand the general situation of science and education of the traditional Chinese medicine in those countries along the maritime silk road in the 21st century,and to explore the problems of the traditional Chinese medicine which the countries along the maritime silk road faced.
Methods Collecting and sorting the information about science and education of the traditional Chinese medicine in the countries along the maritime silk road from Platform for International Service of Sci-tech Information TCM,used CNKI and Wanfang database in recent years.
Results The developmental level varies in science and education in countries along the maritime silk road.Southeast Asia,Africa,Europe,and the South Pacific island nations enjoys rapid development,among which Southeast Asia greatly popularizes and has lots of colleges of traditional Chinese medicine and numerous academic organizations,meanwhile closely communicating with China;Africa's development is rapid,which actively develops various exchanges and cooperation projects with China;European development is mature,due to reasons like history,which has got fast development of Chinese medicine in recent decades,and the general level of science and education of the traditional Chinese medicine increased and improved with the traditional Chinese medicine which has received recognition in Europe;It is creating the pioneer for the Pacific island nations.Nowadays people can study a bachelor's degree in Australia.In South Asia and west Asia,the development is relatively slow,of which the main reason probably is that South Asian and west Asian countries attach great importance to developing its own traditional medicine.
Conclusion The general science and education level of the traditional Chinese medicine in the countries along the maritime silk road is mainly manifested in the pattern of traditional Chinese medicine and institutions on the unbalanced development,so it should be further improved.
