  • Objective To investigate the positive effect and clinical implication of phased nursing intervention on exclusive breastfeeding and its compliance by analyzing the exclusive breastfeeding rate and contributing causes of exclusive breastfeeding at the 1st weeks, the 4th months and the 6th months after delivery. Methods Totally 200 cases of hospitalized pregnant women in our hospital from Jan.2015 to Oct.2015 were enrolled in this study. All cases were divided into control group(n=97)and phased nursing intervention group(n=103).The women in control group were given routine admission education and nursing, while the women in the intervention group were subject to periodic nursing intervention, including timely health education, breastfeeding position guidance,on-demand breastfeeding, maternal nipple retraction correction and timely breast duct dredging,on the basis as carried in the control group. The rate of exclusive breastfeeding in the 2 groups was recorded at 1st week,4thmonth and 6th month after delivery. Results At the 1st week, exclusive breastfeeding rate in the intervention group was significantly higher than that of control group(χ2=79.629,P<0.01),exclusive breastfeeding rate in the intervention group reached 94.17%,while exclusive breastfeeding rate in the control group only 34.02%,additionally,mixed feeding and artificial feeding ratio reached 60.82% and 5.16% in the control group, which was significantly higher than that in the intervention group; At the 4thmonth,exclusive breastfeeding rate in the intervention group remained 96.12%,exclusive breastfeeding rate in the control group raised to 67.01%,the difference between the two group was significant(χ2=28.768,P<0.01),again,mixed feeding and artificial feeding rate was 20.62% and 12.37% respectively, which was significantly higher than that in the intervention group. At the 6th month, exclusive breastfeeding rate in the intervention group remained 93.20%,exclusive breastfeeding rate in the control group decent to 30.93%,the difference between the two group was significant(χ2=83.333,P<0.01),in addition, mixed feeding and artificial feeding rate was 49.48% and 19.59% respectively, which was significantly higher than that in the intervention group. Conclusion The phased nursing intervention can improve the understanding and the compliance of exclusive breastfeeding;it is a promising measure to improve the physical and mental health of pregnant women and infant that worth popularizing.
