Abstract:
Objective To investigate the expression of microRNA (miR) -187 and its association with clinicopathologic features in the gastric cancer and YNM staging.
Methods The miR-187 expression in the 32 cases of gastric cancer and the matched non-tumor adjacent tissue specimens were examined by using stem-loop Real-Time PCR (RT-PCR).The relationship between the expression of miR-187 and its clinicopathologic features of gastric cancer was analyzed by RT-PCR.
Results miR-187 was detected in both the tumor tissues and the non-tumor adjacent tissues. The expression level of miR-187 in the tumor tissues was significantly lower than that in the adjacent tissues (
P < 0.05).Down-regulated miR-187 expression was associated with the cell differentiation (
P < 0.05) and lymph node metastasis TNM staging (
P < 0.05) in gastric cancer patients.
Conclusions There is a significant difference in the expression level of miR-187 between the tumor tissues and the adjacent tissues (
P < 0.05).The miR-187 expression was associated with the cell differentiation and lymph node metastasis TNM staging. The expression of miR-187 might play a key role in the carcinogenesis and progress of gastric cancer.
