Abstract:
Objective To explore the effect of self-care in esophageal carcinoma patients received chemoradiotherapy.
Methods Eighty cases of patients with esophageal carcinoma undergone chemoradiotherapy were randomly divided into control group and experimental group.he control group received regular nursing care while the experimental group received self-care guidance based on the regular nursing.Compare the scores of ESCA and EORTCQLQ-C30 between the two groups before and after the intervention.All data were analyzed using SPSS 19.0 software,and
P<0.05 was statistically significant.
Results After the intervention,the scores of self-concept,self-care skill,health knowledge level and total score were (17.7±3.8) points,(18.7±4.4) points,(46.0±11.7) points,(114.6±22.7) points in the experimental group,which were higher than (14.1±3.8) points,(11.6±4.2) points,(34.2±10.5) points,(85.5±20.5) points in the control group (
P<0.05).he experimental group had higher scores on EORTCQLQ-C30 than the controls after intervention.he dimension of physical function,emotional function,cognitive function and healthy condition significantly increased in experimental group through the self-care (
P<0.05).The adverse reaction rate was 10.0% in the observation group,while was lower than the control group 32.5%(χ
2=6.050,
P<0.05).
Conclusion Self-care may improve the quality of life and self-care ability in patients with esophageal carcinoma received chemoradiotherapy,thus it is of important clinical value.
