Abstract:
Objective To study the procedure and effect of spiral nasal jejunal nutrition tube in patients with moderate or severe acute pancreatitis, and discuss their influence on the enteral nutritional support, and provide the reference for the use of nasal jejunal tube in such patients.
Methods The data of 60 cases of moderate or severe acute pancreatitis undergoing spiral nasal jejunal nutrition tube placement in our hospital between January,2011 and November,2015 were reviewed retrospectively. The nasal jejunal tube was previously placed in the control group, while was placed directly with endoscope in the observation group. The successful rate, time for placement and the use of assistant device were compared between the two groups.
Results The success rate in both groups was 100 percent and there was no obvious differences. The average time for placement in the control group use was(13. 68 ±3. 65) minutes, while in the observation group was(8. 69 ±2. 92) minutes, the difference was significant(
P < 0. 05). 89. 3% of the patients in the control group were with the help of alligator pliers, while 53. 1% in observation group were with the help of it,so the cost for the assistant device use was reduced.
Conclusion The advantage of endoscopic spiral nasal jejunal nutrition tube in patients with acute pancreatitis is obvious in the time for placement and the use of assistant device as compared with the previous placement, which will reduce the patients' pain and the economy burden. The special preparations and devices are not needed in the endoscopy room, and the method is easily to be mastered,so it is worthy to be widely promoted.
