Abstract:
Objective To investigate the present sub-health status of civil service in Nantong city and relations with mental health,life events and quality of life and other factors.
Methods The self-made General Information Questionnaire,16-items Sub-Health Status Self-Assessment Scale,Symptom check list-90 revised(SCL-90-R),World Health Organization Quality of Life Instruments(WHOQOL-BREF),and Life Events Scale(also known as the Holmes & Rahe Social Readjustment Rating Scale)were used to survey the mental health,life events and quality of life and other factors among 887 civil servants from 12 units ofParty and government offices by using stratified random sampling method.
Results Among this samples,the subhealth prevalence rate was 10.17%;mean age in the sub health group was (41.36±1.03)years,in the non-sub healthy group was 35.15±0.43,the difference was significant(
P<0.01);the total score and items score for somatization,obsessive-compulsive symptoms,human relations,depression,anxiety,hostility and sensitive,terror,paranoid,psychotic factors by SCL-90-R in the sub health group were higher than the healthy group(
P<0.01);the psychological,physiological,social,environmental areas by WHOQOL-BREF in the sub healthy group were higher than those of non-sub healthy group(
P<0.01);sub healthy group and non-sub healthy group showed a statistically significant difference in occupation,learning,marriage and love,family and children,economic and justice,interpersonal relationship and health life events by LES(
P<0.05);there was no significant difference between man and women in the sub-health group.
Conclusion The sub health state of civil servants in Nantong city is in a lower level as compared with the results of some researches;the mental health,quality of life and the number of life events are the influence factors of sub-health state of civil servants,which should be taken into consideration seriously.
