Abstract: Objective To compare the clinical effects of the disposable circunmcision suture device and Shang ring for redundant prepuce and phimosis. Methods Total 260 patients of redundant prepuce and phimosis were divided into disposable circunmcision suture device group(140 cases) and Shang ring group(120 cases).there were no significant statistical differences between two groups in local conditions and general conditions(P＞0.05). Results The surgery were successfully completed in both groups.The operative time and blood loss in both group had no significant difference.Compared with disposable circunmcision suture device group,Shang ring group had higher pain scores within 24 hours after the operation(P=0.002).Compared with Shang ring group,the postoperative infection,edema and wound dehiscence incidence was significantly reduced in disposable circunmcision suture device group(P＜0.001).In the disposable circunmcision suture device group,the healing time was significantly shorter than that in the Shang ring group(P＜0.03).But at the same time,the costs in the disposable circunmcision suture device group was higher(P＜0.001). Conclusion Disposable circunmcision suture device,with its advantages of 24 hours postoperative pain score,healing of incision and the rate of incision infection or cracking than Shang ring,has a wide introduction value.
