Abstract:
Objective To explore the clinical effect of TGP(total glucosides of paeony) combined with methotrexate in the treatment of Sjogren’s syndrome and provide the effective basis for the future clinical work.
Methods Total 56 cases of Sjogren syndrome in our hospital from January 2012 to August 2014 were recruited and they divided into two groups. The control group received methotrexate, while the observation group received TGP combined with methotrexate. The treatment course was 6 months. The Schirmer’s test result, salivary flow rate, serum gamma globulin and adverse events were observed.
Results The indexes of rheumatoid factor(RF),erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR),C-reactive protein, salivary flow rate,Schirmer’s test result and serum gamma-globulin in both groups were all improved after the treatment, and the difference before and after the treatment were statistical significance in both groups(
P<0.05).The changes of C-reactive protein and other indicators in the observation group was significantly better than those in the control group, the difference was statistical significance(
P<0.05).The total curative effect was 85.71% in the observation group, which was better than 57.14% in the control group. The mild diarrhea occurred in one patient of the observation group, and mild rash phenomenon in one patient of the control group. There had no significant difference between occurrence rates of the adverse event of both groups(
P>0.05).
Conclusion TGP capsule combined with methotrexate in the treatment of Sjogren syndrome has significant curative effect, which has higher safety and lower incidence of adverse reactions.
